Students, faculty, and staff will not report to the schools. All after-school activities are canceled for tomorrow. Please follow the guidance issued in weather reports and stay safe. The Dooly County School System is off to a RIVETING start with Dr. Adolph Brown, III and his team! Dr. Brown, renown professor, author, and ABC talk show host for the "Parent Test" infused music, dance and drama with brain based research and psychology to encouraged staff to see students where they are and help them transform, overcome challenges and reach their greatest potential!

Dooly County Schools participated in the Hour of Code this week!! The Hour of Code provides a dynamic introduction to computer science through engaging activities designed for learners of all skill levels. Dooly County Students enthusiastically joined the global community of millions participating in this event. Witnessing our students' genuine engagement and excitement during the coding activities was truly inspiring.

Dooly County School System proudly salutes our very own, Ms. Minnie Harper who has been awarded the 2023 Chattahoochee-Flint RESA Champion for Education Award. The Chattahoochee-Flint RESA Champion for Education program recognizes outstanding individuals in each community who go above and beyond the norm to assist and promote local schools and other educational agencies. Ms. Minnie Harper is the epitome of this with over 51 years of service in education upon retirement and having only missed 95 days (less than 1% of the time) of the 9, 180 days of work during her time of service. Though officially retired, we know Ms. Minnie Harper is not retired, serving on the school board as chair, working with the Dooly County Community Booster Club and the Retired Teachers Association and more. Congratulations Ms. Minnie Harper, Chattahoochee-Flint RESA 2023 Champion for Education! The monthly Dooly County District Leadership Team meeting was held this morning at the K-8. In addition to monthly business and professional learning focused on building leadership capacity, monthly staff awards were also provided. This month's Game balls were presented to LaMonika Hill, DCHS Assistant Principal and Dr. Ursula Harris, Director of Student Services. Migrant Services Provider, Jasmine Tovar Ceracedo was awarded Bobby the Bobcat, and Ginny Jackson was the recipient of the Committed to Growth plant. This group brings a high standard of professionalism and passion to their work. Dooly County School System staff and students wore teal on Monday, November 27, 2023 in memory of Ms. Carolyn Brooks, former DCHS Assistant Principal and DCSS CEO CCA/CTAE Director, on her birthday and to bring awareness of ovarian cancer.











FYI: Christ Chapel Unadilla Food Pantry will be open on Saturdays in December. They are hosting a Food Drive on Fri., Dec. 1st starting at 11 a.m. at the old PNC Bank parking lot.

Dooly County faculty and staff consistently engage in job embedded professional development! As today was an asynchronous learning day for students, teachers participated in sessions about AI, Math, Heggerty training, McKinney-Vento and ESOL and family engagement.







During the November School Board Meeting, one of the highlights was the Superintendent's Recognition. It included Chattahoochee Flint RESA Student Advisory Team President, Kaleb Green and Council Member, Shamari Webb. Shamari and Kaleb are both 10th grade leaders at Dooly County High School.
Dooly County Beta Clubs were also recognized at the board meeting for their work in earning the elementary, middle and high schools the National Schools of Distinction honor. Advisors Min' Lea Laidler and Kylie Garard were present representing the high school and middle school. LaTorri West is also an advisor was not able to attend the meeting.
