Walk to Read for students in 1st and 2nd grade began this week. These are differentiation groups taking place based on student data. Walking to Read is the process of grouping kids in skill-alike groups for a small portion of the day. Teachers within the grade level will "specialize" in a particular skill level grouping and the students "walk" to that teacher's room for targeted instruction. Walking to Read allows for more targeted, more efficient, more streamlined planning, instruction and assessment monitoring.
