What an incredible evening at our Georgia Reads Community Literacy Night! 📚✨ We were honored to welcome former NFL player and author Malcolm Mitchell, who first spent time with our K8 Academy students during the day, inspiring young readers with his journey from the football field to becoming an author. Malcolm and his team then joined us at the Rec Dept. track for more fun! The evening brought together parents, students, teachers, and community stakeholders for a celebration of literacy filled with engaging activities, meaningful conversations, and delicious food. Seeing our community unite around the importance of reading was truly special! Thank you to everyone who participated and helped make this event such a tremendous success. Today, the Dooly County Chamber of Commerce-Family Connection held its 48th Annual Meeting and Awards Luncheon, recognizing outstanding community members and organizations for their contributions to our county. We're proud to announce that Dooly County High School student Kaleb Green received a $500 scholarship presented by the Kiwanis Club and Chamber of Commerce. Congratulations, Kaleb, on this well-deserved recognition! Special recognition also went to Mrs. Hollie Black and Ms. Latorri West, who were both honored with the Extra Mile Award for their exceptional dedication and service to our community.
