The Dooly County High School Golden Sound of the South marching band invites the community to their "Fun Day in the Park" event on Friday, May 24, 2024, from 1:00pm to 4:00pm.
Kicking off the festivities at 1:00pm, the Golden Sound of the South will showcase their talents with an energetic performance that is sure to entertain audiences of all ages. Throughout the event, a variety of concessions will be available for purchase, including fish, hot dogs, fries, candy, snacks, and refreshing drinks.
Don't miss this exciting community celebration hosted by the Dooly County High School marching band!


The STEM Bus Tour is coming to you this summer from 2:30-4 p.m. for all school-aged students on June 12th @ Dooly Rec. Dept., Vienna and July 12th @ Jewell Bowens Park, Unadilla. The event hi-lights are STEM activities, Make & Take activities and a Book Giveaway!


FYI: The Summer Bridge Program at DCHS will run from June 3rd-June 27th, Monday-Thursday, 7:30 a.m.-2 p.m. The application deadline is May 24th. The program is for incoming freshmen to get a jump start on their academic success at the high school. You may call the high school at 229.268.8181 to register or use the QR code on the flyer.

The "Golden Sound of the South Fun Day in the Park" has been rescheduled due to inclement weather. This event will now take place on Sunday, May 19, 2024, from 2:00 PM to 6:00 PM at the Vienna City Park (downtown next to courthouse).

Upcoming 9th graders are encouraged to register for the high school's Summer Bridge Program for a smooth transition to high school and to receive help with your numeracy and literacy skills. Register by May 24th use the QR code on the flyer.

Kicking off the festivities at 10:00am, the Golden Sound of the South will showcase their talents with an energetic performance that is sure to entertain audiences of all ages. Throughout the event, a variety of concessions will be available for purchase, including fish, hot dogs, fries, candy, snacks, and refreshing drinks.

The 3rd-5th Grade Field Trip has been canceled for tomorrow due to the expectation of rain all day tomorrow. The park has informed us to reschedule due to the likelihood that they will be closing down tomorrow. We will be looking for another day to reschedule. Letters will be sent home with students today to parents as well. Thank you for understanding!

8th grade parents, this is a reminder that the Eighth Grade Graduation Ceremony will be held on Tuesday, May 14th at 6 p.m. Please let your child's homeroom teacher know by Friday, May 10th if your child will be able to participate. Thank you!

Mr. Nadeau Receives Excellence Award from GaDOE
Mr. Nathan Nadeau received an Excellence Award from the Georgia Department of Education for his outstanding work in Dooly County's English for Speakers of Other Languages (ESOL) program. Mr. Nadeau has been a beacon of inspiration and change for English Learner (EL) students, their families, and the broader community. His innovative teaching methods and compassionate approach have led to outstanding achievements, most notably the remarkable progress in ACCESS scores, where 90% of his students advanced more than one proficiency band. This achievement is a testament to his ability to understand and address the unique needs of EL students, providing them with the skills and confidence needed to excel.
Beyond the classroom, Mr. Nadeau extends his impact through coaching soccer, where he has created a supportive environment allowing him to strengthen connections and foster a sense of belonging among his student athletes.
Mr. Nadeau's leadership and professionalism shine through his commitment to excellence and continuous improvement. He actively seeks out professional development opportunities and collaborates with colleagues to share best practices, further enhancing the quality of education for EL students. His positive influence extends beyond academic success, instilling values of teamwork, respect, and perseverance in his students.
