Dear Dooly Bobcat Parents and Guardians,
As we plan for a possible in person return to school for families who wish to do so, we need to increase our survey results so that we can get an accurate number of family responses. Therefore, we are reopening the Parent Survey that was sent out last week. The deadline to complete the survey is September 23, 2020.
If you have already completed the survey, please do NOT retake the survey. This is only for parents/guardians who have NOT taken the survey. We still have the original responses that were given, and this new data is used to get a better picture. Again, this is only for families who did not respond earlier. Please pass along to all Dooly friends and family you know. The links for each school are:

Thank you for your support of Dooly County Schools!

Dear Dooly County School System Families,

Dear Parents,
During the week of September 7-11, 2020, we surveyed parents to get their opinions on virtual and traditional school options for the second nine weeks. This information is used in our decision-making. No decision has been made yet, but we will let you know next steps in the near future. Please see the survey results by clicking on the link below.

Dear Bobcat Family:
On August 17, 2020, The Dooly County High School Administrative Team decided to postpone Fall Athletics due to the impact the county endured during the summer months as a result of the COVID-19 pandemic.
With this letter, the Dooly County High Administrative Team has now authorized a restart to some of the Fall Athletics which were previously postponed. Extracurricular activities will be conducted based on the guidelines set forth by the National Federation of High Schools and the Georgia High School Association. The Dooly County Athletics Department will work in collaboration with the local health agencies, NFHS, and the GHSA as we try to ensure the safety of our student athletes, activity participants, stakeholders, supporters, and spectators.
Using caution, adhering to local regulations, and following social distancing guidelines provided by the GHSA, the Dooly County High School Athletics Department will return to activities with standard practices. The DCHS Football team will return to practice on August 31st. The team will follow all GHSA guidelines and protocol for practice and games. The first two original games have been cancelled. The team will take the field officially, on September 25th for our first contest.
Due to the high risk of exposure, band will not participate during football games.
The DCHS Fast Pitch Softball Fall season will be cancelled. However, the team will participate in Spring Slow Pitch Softball.
We are grateful for the opportunity to restart our fall activities. Although we cannot fully prevent our student athletes from the threat of exposure, we can take the necessary steps and precautions to reduce the possible threat.
For the children,
Dooly County High School Administrative Team

Dooly County Board of Education recognized the District Teacher of the Year, Mrs. Kylie Garrard.

Postponement of Fall Sports in Dooly County
Dear Bobcat Nation,
After considerable thought and deliberation among school and district officials, Dooly County School System is postponing fall sports indefinitely. This includes softball, football, cheer-leading, and band. The reason is due to current spread level of COVID-19 in the county as well as across the state. Public health and safety are our top priorities. We look forward to seeing our student athletes on the fields soon. Thank you for your understanding and support during these trying times.
Respectfully,
Dr. Craig Lockhart
PROUD Superintendent
