2021-2022 Operating Budget
Pursuant to Georgia Code §20-2-167.1, the Dooly County Board of Education will hold two public meetings for the exclusive purpose of providing an opportunity for public input on its proposed annual operating budget for the 2021-2022 fiscal year.
All citizens are invited to the public meetings regarding the budget to be held at Dooly County Board of Education Central Office at 202 Cotton Street, Vienna, GA 31092 on June 9th at 12:00 p.m. and June 17th at 5:00 p.m.
Citizens may also virtually join the June 9th public meeting by using the link posted on the Dooly County Schools website.
The tentative budget and link to the June 9th meeting are posted on the Board’s website, www.dooly.k12.ga.us, under the Finance Department .
The Dooly County School System Book Bus is a component of the District Literacy Initiative, providing opportunities for all Dooly County students to be college and career ready and global life-long learners through the love of reading. If you would like to volunteer this summer, please sign up by selecting one or more of our DCSS Book Bus community stop locations. All volunteers will receive additional correspondence concerning the logistics of the book bus community stops. The link to sign up is located on the district webpage under News. May 28th is the last day of school and an early release day for Dooly County students. Students will leave school around noon. Thank you for sharing your children with us, and we hope you have a safe and fun summer!
Are you interested in enrolling your child(ren) in PREP Virtual Academy for the 2021-2022 school year? Complete the application on the Dooly County Schools website under News. Seats are limited. Students must be in grades 3rd-12th. To be eligible, families must have access to their own technology and Internet services and have shown that they are successful in online classes. Once your application is received and confirmed, you will be contacted if you are approved. If you application is not approved, then you will be expected to send your child to in person learning at his/her assigned school. For more information, please contact Dr. Barbara P. Dooly County Retired Educators hosted a "Thank You Breakfast" during Teacher Appreciation Week.
From School Nutrition: Virtual students, attending school today for testing, will go home today with their meals for next week. Any other virtual student, not at school today, will need to call their child's school to schedule a pick up time for Monday.

Superintendent Dr. Craig Lockhart met with the Superintendent’s Student Advisory Council (SSAC) on Friday, April 16th. The topics discussed were literacy, the effects of the pandemic, social injustice, mental health, and more.
The Dooly County Board meeting was called to order by Master John Beasley on Thursday, April 15, 2021, at 6:00 p.m. The Superintendent announced that CF RESA sponsored the Georgia Young Authors Writing Competition and Master John Beasley from Dooly County K-8 received Honorable Mention for his entry on “When I Grow Up.” The Superintendent recognized John’s teachers Ms. Kathleen Wright and Ms. Antavia James and, John’s parents.
