
Our library came alive this morning as Ms. Crystal Williams, our wonderful library para, got our kindergarteners dancing and singing during Red Ribbon Week! Nothing beats seeing those bright smiles and energetic moves as our students learned about making healthy choices.




The wait is over, our Dooly County K-8 Academy library renovation is officially complete! We are thrilled to unveil this beautiful, modern space featuring brand new furniture and a fresh look that is perfect for reading, studying and collaborating. We can't wait to see our students enjoying the space!

Our talented Dooly County High School FFA members have been hard at work crafting beautiful floral arrangements for tomorrow's homecoming court. Using skills learned in their agriculture classes, these students created stunning bouquets that will add an extra special touch to our homecoming ceremony.

Dooly County Schools kicked off homecoming weekend with an incredible homecoming parade yesterday afternoon! 🎉🏈
The streets were filled with Bobcat pride as our students, staff, and alumni marched through town. From colorful floats to spirited performances, the energy was electric!











Tonight's Dooly County Board of Education meeting was called to order by a very special guest: Dylan Ixmay Calel, a second-grade student from Mrs. Sim's class!



We need YOU! The DCSS needs your input in planning our 5-year strategic plan. All stakeholders (parents, students, community members, business partners) are invited to attend and share your ideas November 14, 2024, 5:30-6:30 p.m. at the Dooly K-8 Academy.

Today, 8th grade students in Coach Peavy’s health and P.E. course enjoyed learning about cardiovascular 🫀 health using virtual reality glasses donated by Donor’s Choose. Our Family Engagement and Communications Specialist & STEM specialist, Mrs. Garrard, was also present to facilitate this activity.

Graduation rates for the state of Georgia have just been released and Dooly County High School has a rate of 90.9% for the 2023-2024 school year! Dooly County High School has exceeded the state of Georgia graduation rate of 85.4% for the fifth consecutive year.

Dooly County School System is proud to announce the achievement and status of the Georgia School Boards Association’s (GSBA) 2024 Exemplary School Board recognition.
This recognition highlights the board’s commitment to continuous improvement, transparency, and collaboration, all of which play a key role in enhancing educational opportunities for every student in the district. The Georgia School Boards Association (GSBA) honors school boards that demonstrate strong governance, helping to create a positive educational culture that supports student learning and achievement.
Dooly County School met and/or exceeded the criteria set forth by GSBA to earn the honor of a 2024 Exemplary Board.
The GSBA Governance Team Recognition Program was developed by Georgia superintendents and board members based on the state board of education’s standards for effective governance to recognize exemplary leadership.
In 1998, the Georgia School Boards Association was one of the first school board associations in the nation to develop a program of standards for local boards of education.
The GSBA Board recognition program is a three-tiered program. For more information on the GSBA award categories, you may visit the GSBA website for awards and recognition to view the criteria for all tiers of the program.

Located in the elementary school foyer, this innovative machine dispenses FREE books to students!
Students will earn book tokens for good behavior, academic achievement, or participation. Our goal is to foster a love for reading, increase access to diverse literature, and encourage students to explore new genres and authors.
